The Metropolitan New York Ski Council (MSC) is offering a 2020 trip to Niseko Japan, famed for its extensive powder skiing.  Scheduled for the height of Hokkaido’s snow season, lodging will be at the ski-in / ski-out Green Leaf Hotel in Niseko Village.

    • $3,800/pp double occupancy, Jan. 10-20, 2020 [includes 3 nights in Tokyo]

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS TRIP

  • Niseko features very fine and deep powder, requiring use of true powder skis. Ski rental is strongly recommended due to high ski shipment cost, the risk of lost/delayed skis during airline transfers and the general physical inconvenience of transporting one’s skis such a long distance
  • Many Australians work at the Niseko resort so language problems are not an issue
  • This is NOT an “official” MMSSC trip – the club will not appoint a trip leader or handle any trip management. Trip management will be directly through the Metro Ski Council. HERE is the Metro Ski Council’s registration form for this trip.

Val di Fassa, Dolomites, Italy March 13 – 21 2020

HOW TO REGISTER FOR THIS TRIP

We’re headed to the famed Val di Fassa with easy access to some of the most famous ski terrain in Italy including the exciting Sella Ronda ski circuit.  We’ve selected a 4+ Star hotel in a lovely small-town location. Guide service is available as part of our half-board (breakfast and dinner included) lodging package. Flights are in/out of Venice (via Zurich), and “skis fly free”!

Located in the province of Trentino in northern Italy, the Fassa valley alone has 122km of well-groomed piste skiing with a further 100km nearby in Tre Valli and access to Dolomiti Superski – the world’s largest ski circuit with over 1,200km of pistes, of which 800km are connected. Situated in the heart of the valley, Vigo di Fassa is its cultural and historic center. There are ski busses to all the region’s individual destinations along with immediate access to several local areas.

The Alpen Hotel Corona offers all the region’s traditional cultural charm.  Dining is top-notch (we’re going half-board) and afternoon coffee/tea and cakes will welcome back from the slopes. Spa opportunities abound with an indoor swimming pool, hydro-massage, Finnish sauna, Bio-sauna (with color therapy and aromatherapy!), steam grotto and an aroma cabin.
The Dolomiti SuperSki Pass will be available for purchase in our hotel as well as several locations nearby.  A 5-day pass costs $280 (2019 pricing). The pass runs for consecutive ski-days, but it’s possible to buy 2-day ($125) and 3-day ($180) combinations in order to take a mid-week break.
